PLAINES, IL, September 9, 2005—Sheer Wire, a leading provider of wire and cable in the home theater market, has introduced the new HDMI & DVI series of cable assemblies. Designed for extended distance HD transmission and exceptional durability, Sheer Wires's new digital video cables bring professional grade performance to both commercial and residential HDMI & DVI applications.
The DVI and HDMI cables utilize Sheer Wires's new HDX24 cable series. The HDX24 has a more robust construction compared to traditional consumer grade cable types. This leading edge design features ultra low attenuation, wide bandwidth, larger conductors, and exceptional flexibility. As a result, the HDX24 series delivers both increased durability and exceptionally clear and accurate digital video transmission over longer distances.
Both cable types are available as preterminated cables with all-metal shells and integrated strain reliefs. Certified up to 15 meters at 1080i, Sheer Wire's HDMI and DVI cables allow for greater separation between the video source and display device. At this distance, Sheer Wire HDMI and DVI cables can be run three times as far compared to standard consumer grade types which are typically limited to 5 meters. “Our new Sheer Wire HDMI and DVI cables deliver professional grade performance to HD video transmission in both commercial and residential applications,” stated Scott Fehl, Director of Marketing for Sheer Wire. “The extended distance certification of these cables allows system designers to have greater options in equipment and display placement.”
